K. Kay, also known as Kelley, is a 40 years old whos passion for creating traditional arts extends over a life time. From her first abstract art with crayons on the bedroom wall, to her first art contest win during high school, to her unique style blend of today, she is driven by talent only the good Lord can give.
Kelley is a humble artist, "They say I am good but there will always be someone better then me, I just strive do the best I can and hope it is well recieved." Over the years she has moved from practicing allot with realism to adding in bright friendly colors and in turn most of her art bears a blended style appearance of impressionism, realism, and folk. "The skies in my arts are probably best noted to have impressionism but I really love trying a new alternate color(s) for basically everything but the main subject."
Through out her life she has explored several mediums and can basically paint on most hard surfaces. "It just takes different paint and each paint has different workability." Yet most of her canvas / watercolor paper artwork today is done with the acrylic medium. Kelley can also work with graphite and pen and ink though you won't see her do much with those these days. Her watercolor (which is actually acrylics using the watercolor techinques) and ink puppy A.C.E.O series is the exception.
For Kelley's more personal information, she is married to a fellow animal lover and resides out on an acreage in the heart of farming country. "When I was growing up, in Michigan, we always had a dog(s) and a cat(s) yet never cared for pigs, chickens, horses, and other such farm animals untill I met my husband. He is probably the tenth generation of livestock farmer in his family."
